******* New From The North East *******

*****************************

A question for all you people who have connections with the North East of Scotland but are now living in far flung corners of the world. From the prairies of Canada to the Australian outback you can the person out of the North East but you can't take the North East out of the person. Have you ever longed to hear again the rich language and dialect of Aberdeenshire? The Mither Tongue or Doric as it is known is a wonderfully descriptive language and something that can distinguish an Aberdeenshire person through out the world. For those of you who have longed to hear the Doric again now is your chance. Herring Moon Records have just released an album of poetry recorded almost entirely in the Mither Tongue of the North East. "The Wind Aff The Sea" is a collection of poems about the sea. Written and performed by Bill Buchan, the poems take us on a journey from the fishing grounds to the oil fields of the North Sea. Anyone who delights in hearing the language of Aberdeenshire will find this album to be a treasure.
